Hi Candidates! :)

A big thanks to everyone who came out last night. I really appreciate the interaction, the great questions and how engaged everyone was.

To recap this session:

We covered the MBA essay writing process from a strategic point of view and from a tactical point of view.
Strategically, we spoke to how to do your MBA program research, how to frame your MBA candidacy and how to determine your own MBA SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats).
Tactically, we began to review a representative MBA admissions essay. I went over an approach, the associated frameworks and an initial draft.
We then reviewed a final MBA application essay draft where we discussed what improved from the original version.

While we ran short on time, after a few hours, I am glad I got to field as many questions and you guys could throw out. We'll pick up the conversation next time with some more MBA essay examples.

I look forward to seeing everyone again, May 17 at Blankspaces in Mid-Wilshire.

The Los Angeles MBA Admissions Workshop is a seminar series that introduces attendees to the critical components of the MBA application process. Attendees will leave knowing what they need to do to maximize their changes of getting into the best business school program possible.

As MBA deadlines loom this is your chance to nail down your application and approach to your essays. Significant time and focus will be paid to the common MBA essay types. Attendees will learn how to construct impactful MBA application essays through a step by step writing process.

The Workshop's organizer, Paul Lanzillotti (http://www.linkedin.com/a/paullanz) is a 2004 UCLA Anderson graduate, a current MBA Admissions Consultant, a former MBA admissions interviewer, a former Kaplan GMAT instructor, a former IT and management consultant and mechanical engineer. Additionally, he has worked with 100's of MBA applicants over the past 8 years.
